obey night
obey
16.10.10
'Obey' was the first of our live experimental and electronic music nights in Mold.
The night began with Mike and Maff setting up the contents of their spare rooms upstairs in the Wine Bar. With a few ideas and lots of things that make noises, the night was spent improvising and experimenting with machines and instruments. Thank you to everybody that came, it's the first Obey of many.

Anders Griffen (Regina Spektor, Frank Lowe, Jeffrey Lewis) is a multi-directional drum set player who performs with a range of choreographers, jazz musicians and song writers. He is characterized by his unique, supportive accompaniment and ability to play in acoustic situations with sensitivity and nuance. 24th September 2010
St Mary's Church Hall, Mold
I have been listening to Diane for years, her effortless voice, genuinely beautiful lyrics and guitar playing inspire me on a daily basis. I'm so glad to have her come play, i promise it's going to be a highlight of the year. Buy her albums, it'll make your life that little bit better.
Biography from Last FM:
Diane Cluck is a New York-based singer-songwriter loosely affiliated with the Antifolk scene centered around the open mic nights at the Sidewalk Cafe.
She has recorded six albums since 2000. Performing primarily with her voice and an acoustic guitar, Cluck has also been known to make sounds with piano, organ, harmonium, handmade-xylophone, and zither. She has been influenced by dogs and her home state of Pennsylvania. “Dogs inspire me and break my heart. They are joyful by nature and honest at all times. People imprison and domesticate dogs, rob them of their sex organs and then keep them around to stroke on. Humans keep pets as models of their own restraint. I am interested in ‘freeing the dog’.” Her music uses discordant effects and dynamic contrast.
Devendra Banhart, who has included Diane Cluck’s music on at least one compilation, is an enthusiastic listener: ““My favorite singer/songwriter in all of New York City. I’m so happy to be alive at the same time she is because I get to see her perform. It’s her and guitar, or her and piano, or her and harmonium. Her lyrics are so good; when I play this for people they stop doing everything and are quiet for hours after.”
Among others she has collaborated with Jeffrey Lewis and Herman Düne and recently has been working with drummer, Anders Griffen.
